The Visa Is Won or Lost
in Ninety Seconds

Unlike most missions, the United States decides at an interview — usually in under two minutes. Your documents get you into the room. What you say, and how you say it, decides the rest.

The Standard You're Judged Against

Section 214(b), and Nothing Else

Almost every US visitor refusal cites one line of law: section 214(b). It presumes you intend to immigrate, and puts the burden on you to prove otherwise. That is the entire test.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

Ninety secondsThe documents get you into the room. The answers decide the visa.

The 214(b) presumption
US law presumes every applicant is an intending immigrant. You must overcome that presumption. The officer starts from no.
Strong ties abroad
Employment, business, property, family, financial commitments. The evidence that your life is here, not there.
Purpose of trip
Specific, temporary, and consistent with what you say at the counter. Contradiction between form and answer is fatal.
Ability to fund the trip
Your own funds, credibly. A sponsor is permitted but weakens the story if you cannot fund yourself.
The interview itself
Short, direct answers. Officers decide on demeanour and consistency as much as on paper.
Prior US history
Overstays, refusals or visa violations anywhere. These are visible to the officer before you speak.

Requirements, fees and interview wait times change without notice. Every detail here is indicative and is re-confirmed against current State Department guidance on the day we file.

What We Assemble

The File, Line by Line

Your file rarely gets read cover to cover. It exists so that the two or three questions the officer asks have answers you can give without hesitating.

Passport and application documents being prepared
Nothing in this file is invented Every page is one we would hand to the officer ourselves.
  • DS-160 Form Completed with total accuracy. Every answer must survive being read back to you at the counter.
  • Passport & Photographs Validity and photo spec checked against the State Department's own rule.
  • Appointment & Fee Receipts MRV fee paid, interview and biometrics slots booked correctly.
  • Interview Rehearsal The most important document is not a document. We rehearse until your answers are instinctive.
  • Bank Statements Six months, with every large credit explained before an officer has to ask.
  • Employment Proof Leave approval, salary slips and appointment letter, consistent with your stated income.
  • Ties to Pakistan Property, business, family — the evidence that overcomes the 214(b) presumption.
  • Business Documents Registration, tax returns and trade history, for B1 business travellers.
  • Invitation Letter From a US host or business, where one genuinely exists. Never one that doesn't.

Ozmark does not fabricate documents, inflate bank balances or arrange fake invitations. Every file we submit is one we would be willing to defend, line by line, in front of the officer who reads it.

The Ozmark Method

A Considered Path, Five Movements

  1. 1

    Free Consultation

A private, no-obligation sitting to understand your travel purpose, your history and your budget.

  2. 2

    Eligibility Assessment

An honest read of your profile against the real bar a US consular officer applies — before a rupee is spent.

  3. 3

    Document Preparation

Statements reconciled, gaps explained, and a cover letter written for your circumstances rather than a template.

  4. 4

    Submission & Interview Prep

DS-160 filed, MRV fee paid, biometrics and interview booked — and then the part that matters: your interview rehearsed until your answers are second nature.

  5. 5

    Decision & Departure

The decision tracked to collection, and a pre-departure briefing so nothing at the border surprises you.

Why Files Fail

Four Ways to Lose It
at the Counter

A US consular officer spends about ninety seconds with you. These are the four things that end an interview before it starts.

The Rehearsed Speech

Memorised paragraphs. Officers hear hundreds a day and it reads as coaching, not truth.

The Contradiction

Your DS-160 says one thing, your mouth says another. The interview is over at that moment.

The Weak Ties

Nothing that anchors you to Pakistan. 214(b) does the rest, automatically.

The Borrowed Balance

A sponsor's money in your account, or a deposit with no history. It answers the wrong question.

None of these are about money. Almost every refusal we have read turned on a contradiction, a gap, or a document that raised a question nobody had answered.

Before You Ask

Questions, Answered Plainly

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
Is the first consultation really free?

Yes — a full sitting with a senior counsellor, in person in Lahore or over a call. You leave with a written assessment of your chances whether or not you engage us.

Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?

No, and neither can anyone else. The decision belongs to a visa officer, not a consultant. What we control is the quality and honesty of the file, and whether every question the officer might ask has already been answered inside it. Anyone promising you a guaranteed visa is either lying or planning to fabricate something.

What is a 214(b) refusal, and can it be fixed?

It means the officer was not satisfied you overcame the presumption of immigrant intent. It is not a ban — you may reapply. But reapplying with the same profile and the same answers will produce the same result. Something in your circumstances or your evidence has to have genuinely changed.

How much bank balance do I need to show?

There is rarely a fixed number. What matters is that the balance credibly covers your trip, has a history behind it, and did not appear days before you applied. A sudden large deposit hurts an application far more than a modest, well-established balance.

How are your fees structured?

A written, fixed-fee schedule signed before any work begins, separate from embassy and biometric fees, which you pay directly to the mission. No surprise charges appear at submission stage.
